The Pedro de Osma Museum viceregal art collection is considered one of the most relevant in Latin America. The museum gathers pieces of art mainly from Cuzco. These works of art are distributed according to an actualized museographic perspective. We believe that the museography allows the visitors being in contact with an essential historical period in the configuration of a very particular cultural identity. Most of the XVIII century pieces of art testimony original creations elaborated by local artists. Added to the aesthetical and technical precepts they learned from Occident, the native artists contributed to the development of art with their own cultural tradition from the South Andes.
